DC power jack socket question

Hello. I'm a total noob trying to repair a Samsung Smartview baby monitor. The pin inside the DC power jack socket broke off and I need to replace the socket.

I carefully removed the back of the monitor (4 screws) and popped off the socket. The socket has a pin on each corner and a hole in the middle, and there's a pin coming out of the circuit board which (apparently) fits into the hole in the socket.

The problem is, when I looked online for socket to match the one I removed, I couldn't find it. All I can find is 3-pin sockets such as this one on e-bay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-DC-Po...Socket-Connector-DC003-Type-1-3-/170844901573

What I'm thinking now is that the socket is actually 3-pin, but the center pin came off and is stuck in the circuit board.

Before I try to pull the pin out of the circuit board, I just want to make sure it's not designed that way.

Thanks in advance for helping out a noob with a "noob-orn". :)

Perhaps a picture of what you've actually got right now would be useful

Sure thing...sorry. Apologies for the pic of the socket being blurry. It has pins on the outside corners and a hole in the middle where I think the third (middle) pin came out of. You can clearly see the pin sticking out of the circuit board (yellow circle) from the center hole of the three holes that the socket plugs into.

Thanks again.

OK, as I suspected, the issue looks like one of getting something that physically fits.

This may be a custom part, but it's not likely.

Perhaps you can go through all the power connectors on (say) digikey to see if you can find a replacement.

Beware that there are plugs/sockets which vary in dimensions by a fraction of a mm. pick the wrong one and your plug won't fit (or won't fit properly).

Well, no dice at digi-key (had their rep search through online chat), and even Samsung (online chat and a phone call, too) doesn't have a replacement part. Samsung is sending me a replacement LED monitor since it's still under warranty.

What a shame to have to do this for want of a 50-cent jack socket. *sigh*

Hey, but at least I'll have a working baby monitor, which is all I want.

Clearly it broke before it was supposed to. They're supposed to last 1 day longer than the warranty. :(
