I have a power source that’s 8.4v at 30a and I want to use a dc step-up booster to jump to 12v to run a couple of micro cooling fans (.10a). However, the step-up booster says the input amps should not exceed 9A. Therefore, how should I go about reducing the amperage into the step-up?

Thanks!

You don't. The circuitry will take whatever current it needs and work just perfectly. Mind you, that's a bit of a waste of resources given the fans are running at 1/300th the capacity of the boost converter!
