DC to DC converters

Hallo!

Recently I bought a DC to DC converter to step up my input voltage.

I bought the RECOM RCD-24-0.70 dc to dc converter listed here in the site:

Its the 5th one.

I want to convert 6volts DC to 12 volts DC using this exact product.

I tried wiring up a "Dimming control" to increase the voltage but I get nothing... 6 volts In 6 volt out

And the products states its adjustable output voltage...

Can anyone help me with this and if you know the solution please clarify the answer.

What did you use for a load?
Oh, and besides, how do you expect stepping up a voltage with a step-down constant-current source/driver/converter?

I didn't use anything yet I want to use it on DC appliances other than "LED'S"

I just measured the output.The "output type: Adjustable" 2 to 35Volts DC.

as Res is indicating your have misunderstood the purpose of this DC - DC converter

Firstly it is designed for driving LED's with a constant current
Secondly its a step down converter NOT a step up converter

read the first line of the description......
The RCD series is a step down constant current source designed for driving for driving high power white LED's.


you are NEVER going to get more voltage out than what you put in

the one you chose... RCD-24-0.70 has an adjustable output up to ~2.5V bvelow the input voltage 4.5V in 2V out; 36V in adjustable up to 33V out

There are other boost DC - DC converters out there do a google search on those words

Yes thats a step up regulator but 2 things to consider.....

1) its surface mount and unless you have the soldering station capable of doing SMD work you are going to find it really difficult to work with
2) it only has 70mA current capability

you havent said what you want to use the converter for but this may be way too low in current capability.

You would be much better off with a LM1577/2577 switching regulator, it can on its own do up to 800mA (0.8A)
google the datasheet :)

Im looking for any boost converter that will increase an input voltage of 6VOLTS/DC to any voltage to power some dc appliances btw they are all under 1 AMP so its fine.

I found a group of Dc to Dc converters the maximum output current is not stated or even the minimum because the voltage output is adjustable.

So I just need voltage of 12 and above.

Keep in mind I don't need much amperage. 500mA is good 700mA is better 1Amp is perfect.

I think one of them could get me close to the requirements.
