Dead Laptop battery charge circuit

Hey Guys, I am a hobbyist, like doing basic soldering and repairs on my off time. I got here an spare HP6730B Laptop which once was plugged into an wall outlet with no ground and ever since the battery itself, would not charge again. I am sure its the battery and not the charging circuit on the MB as I have put in another battery and that worked and charged well.

Anybody got any idea if I can do a quick repair on it with maybe some ebay parts?

Playing with LI-based batteries can be dangerous. I recommend you get a working battery.

If you dont need it to run on battery you can power it from adapter to battery pins inside laptop.if you want to repair battery you must be carefull, because you need to cut the plastic ,if you cut battery it may explode,or burn,find what is faulty one and replace

sure the charging circuit is on the mobo? Quite often it is part of the battery itself these days - it could explain why a new battery works and the old one doesn't.
