dell lattitude CPi laptop keyboard standard error

Howdy,

Is it possible to repair a dell laptop keyboard? When its removed from the
laptop and placed losely on top it works, but when i put it in place, it
says "keyboad stuck key error" (or something). anything to do, but buy a new
one?

It sounds to me like something is pressing on the keyboard, or there is a
bad solder connection, and when mounted, it is being effected. As for
parts, you would have to replace the complete keyboard as an assembly. DELL
cannot sell the parts only. Infact, they may not even sell the part
directly to you. They will probably instruct you to go to their authorized
service rep.

Probably. You can try to narrow it down by seeing at what point it
fails as you move it around. It's also possible some bit of something
conductive has fallen inside and is bouncing arouud in there. Possibly
a bad cable or dirty connection - have you removed and reseated the cable?
