i have no idea how to key word search my problem or the correct terms to use when asking yall..

this maybe wrong forum im sorry don't delete please..

the superslim ps3 has a sliding cover to insert discs, When the tray door closes it depresses this button, a little latch thing that activates thing to spin.
well, that little piece has broken off .
So i opened it up and accidentally pulled the connector off the motherboard that the ribbon for the optical drive is connected to. i soldered it back on
but the drive wont activate to spin/read disc..
when i power on the ps3, it starts up spinning wit the blue/red laser lights w but wont play discs ..

i bought the replacement pieces i need and still not working, oh there's no more power/standby light either.. i figure theres a connection... the play station operates good just doesn't play discs..

is there A way to make it spin ?

did i short out something, on the board? solder where i shouldnt? im new to that too

You should probably show a clear picture of what you soldered and let us take a look at it.
