Difference? Regular resistor and a current limiting resistor?

What are the physical differences between a regular resistor and a current limiting resistor? Or is it the same resistor the difference being one applied in a parallel or series?

All resistors limit current. That's their purpose.

The product of their resistance and the current flowing through them create the volt drop across them. Basic Ohm's Law.

Just as a “rental car” is no different than a “car”, a “current limiting resistor” is simply referring to a particular usage of the resistor.

Thanks both.

I was a little confused because some articles referred to the resistor as a current limiting resistor as if it's a specific type.

Thanks.

I wondered about that too but forgot to ask at the time so thanks from me too!

Just like a travel agent might ask if you want a rental car.

I=V/R (ohm's law)
Some also refer to a series resistor in a current-limiting configuration as a 'dropper'.
----------------;;;;====================;;;;-----------
V.in ;;;; V.Drop across R ;;;; Lower V.out=Less I
Higher R=<I
