I am designing a simple circuit with a charging IC which takes an input of 5V (usb) and charges a battery. The charging IC (MCP73831) outputs LOW on a state pin when the battery is full. According to the datasheet you should put a pullup resistor on the state pin so its always HIGH until the IC outputs LOW.
My question is, can I have the pullup with 3V instead of 5V so that it can be directly fed into a micro controller which works @ 3v?
