There you go!
Was thinking on how many fuel injectors it would take.
I assume that's the technology they use

Damn

"All you gotta do" is create a stable time base - from an oscillator
or the power line, count it down to the appropriate output (modulus
60) then send it to some TTL or CMOS latch decoder output for your
flavor of display.

If you can't figure it out, perhaps you could major it pottery or
basket weaving? Google isn't your friend Google Groups really hates
your lazy ass.

According to the clip, it's "Approximately 3,000,... similar to an inkjet
printer..."

Don't you ever check links?

Cheers!

Looks more like the water is simply falling and not being squirted. At
least not with any significant pressure. I suspect they have a trough with
water in it and 3000 valves that open/close allowing water to simply fall
thru nozzles.

It's neat, but the laminar flow tricks that I've seen are spectacular.
Using that technology and shooting the water up and over backwards (in an
arc) could make for some pretty neat displays since the water looks like
glass.

Is the project itself a digital clock, or a digital clock a part of a
larger progect project? Is it to be a unique way to display time. Does
it have to be practical, or can it be "out of this world, anything
goes".
Can a micro be involved? if yes, small, big, or a PC? Can there be
moving/ motorised parts?

If it were me, I'd do a bedside type clock with an LCD, a lesser micro,
a 2X20 backlit LCD, and some rotary knobs to set the thing, plus a WWVB
receiver to set the time. Maybe that's beyond your class level.
