This might be a bit of a dummy question but I am currently working on a lab with a digital hall effect sensor. Anyway, I wound a cable through the Hall effect current sensor 5 times and recorded a 2.77V output at 2A. My question is; to get the through current would I have to multiply/divide the output voltage or current by 5 because the winding went around 5 times?

thanks,

Yes.

This approach can be used to create a more sensitive hall effect current sensor, but it generally means you can't just clamp it on a cable.
