diode forward voltage confusion

Is "forward voltage" and "forward voltage drop" for a diode the same?
I read where forward voltage is the min voltage to forward bias a diode
so is this also the voltage drop across the diode? If so does this
also apply to a diode laser? This is probably a dumb question.

The voltage drop across a diode will vary a small amount with the current
going thru the diode
Forward voltage and voltage drop tend to be used interchangeably

This applies to all types of diodes

And very much more so with the junction temperature.
