what is the difference between forward biasing and reverse biasing.
what will be result if we replace both with each other in circuit...

thanks.

The biasing determines at what point on the characteristic operating curve the diode will work. The result of reversal could be a change in polarity (for a rectifier circuit) to faulty operation of the circuit or possibly even self-destruction. However, if you also reversed the power supply voltage, PNP & NPN devices, N-channel & P-channel devices, and polarized capacitors, then you might be able to make the circuit operate in the reversed condition. However, it would be difficult to reverse integrated circuits.

when forward biased the diode conducts normally at anything over its forward voltage drop, typically ~ 0.7V

reversed biased ... the diode doesnt conduct till its breakdown voltage is exceeded
this is usually a bad thing. But its used to an advantage with zener diodes that have predetermined reverse bias breakdown voltages

for reverse biased,we use zener diode???

breakdown voltage is "rapidly increase of current under reverse bias"..???

am i right??

In Forward Bias of P-N Junction, the p-type is connected with the positive terminal of the battery and the n-type is connected with the negative terminal of the battery. The holes of positive region and electrons of negative region move toward the P-N junction depend upon polarity of applied voltage. It reduce the width of Depletion layer. Current flow is permitted.
In Reverse Bias of P-N junction, the p-type is connected with the negative terminal of the battery and the n-type is connected with the negative terminal of the battery. It increase the width of Depletion layer.Current flow is prohibited until it reach the zener or avalanche breakdown.
