Hi,

I have a question, just say the input is 7-32V into a circuit. 4 diodes px6007 connected in parallel are there just in case for reverse polarity protection. The question is why, there are 4 there and how to do the calculation when diodes are in parallel.

px6007 specs are: I think, 6A, 1000V, Pmax = 5W, Tjmax = 150C.

Thanks

Connected in parallel how?

Perhaps you can show us a circuit diagram.

Is it like one of these?

And what do you want to calculate?

Thanks for your reply,

(A) seem to be the right idea.

-Power dissipate for each diode
-equations or method to work them out.

Thanks

there's no valid reason for putting a set of diodes in parallel like that for reverse polarity protection

a single diode of the appropriate current rating would be sufficient
