Not if you use them in stacks of 20. Run the suckers right off the 120 volt
mains, you can. Bitch of a job to find the burned out one, though.

Not true. The ICs don't need filament transformers.

I am trying to reduce my parts count. Does anyone know of a way to
divide down by 200, or even 20, using a single CMOS IC?

you can divide by 20 or 100 with a 4518
