Good Day,

I’m sorting out which parts to buy for this flexible LED panel.

Soviet Union dimmer:
The dimmers that Matthew uses look like surplus parts from the former Soviet Union.
These dimmers are rated at 3 volts to 35 volts, and 5 amps.

Dimmer with a box:
I like this dimmer, which is rated at 12 volts, and 8 to 10 amps.

To power the panel, Matthew used a notebook power supply rated at 19 volts.
The voltage was cut in half; so each LED strip got 9.5 volts.

Can I use the dimmer with a box?

This dimmer is rated for 12 volts. Does that mean it can handle anything up to 12 volts?

If this dimmer won’t work, do you know one that will work? This one comes with an actual box and I can tighten screws on the wires, instead of having to solder them down.

I did a search for LED strips and dimmers. I found several super geeky articles with guys rambling on in their own language. There was nothing helpful for a beginner.

Thank you much, Happy Trails. :)
