Two days ago, I installed a new 9V battery in a smoke detector. During the
night I was awaken by a loud bang. The newly installed Duracell battery
exploded. After checking if the smoke detector was operational (no short
circuit), I installed a new battery and everything is fine. Anybody with
similar experience?
