I'm sick of tracking down my outboard motor's ignition problem and I'm questioning my sanity. These two measurements read .4Ω and 740Ω respectively, correct? Stator Ohms.jpg

yes your first one is showing a short circuit

the second one I cant read the pic is too small, but guessing what range you are on, yes that 740Ω appears to be correct

That's a short circuit? I'm supposed to be getting a reading in the range of .19 - 1.4 ohm

The second pic is on 20k

for all practical purposes yes it's a short

but for the sake of clarification ... there are resistors available that are less than 1 Ohm

how and where you measured this 0.4 Ohms will determine if it's a short or a low value resistor

It's a stator on a boat outboard engine. It shows that is the acceptable range.
Thanks for your help!!

The reason I ask the question is I couldn't tell if its displaying a decimal point or just signifying the value setting.
