Hi all,

I'm new here, very nice to be a part of this great community.

My friend and I are interested in creating our own, minimalistic design clock.

Problem is, we are having problems getting past the design phase. I am planning to learn to use autocad to create the clock in 3d and it's mechanism. The idea is that the clock will have two round bars, next to each other. Around each circular bar, a bead will be moving, which will indicate either the hour or minute, depending on which bar it is on. Each bead will be powered by a small battery and moved by a motor mechanism inside of it.

What is the smallest and cheap electric motor out there? Obviously the motor will have to be very quite and very small but have a high torque to make the beads move against the gravity at such a slow speed.

Ideas please, also is autocad the best programme to design such a thing?

Thanks a lot!

what.... we have to use a whole molecule? pfft thats too big lol

anyway as for the project at hand find a cad that you like to use. I could tell you to spend 1500 and buy one but there are many out there for free.... although some of those are limited in functionality.
find what you need, find whats easy for you, then find a program that covers both those areas
