Hello !
I found this analog/digital multimeter , it looks brand new , not a scratch, it doesn't have a brand , only shows a model KT0732
0.jpg
It powers on , but it shows -1 on every function , only the decimal appears when i move from like 200 ohms to 200k ohms
When i hook it to a baterry or any other power source , it shows .000 for 1 second and then it returns to -1
The continuity check doesn't work , it should beep but it doesn't
Also , a chip on the board (TL062CP) gets very hot (> 40°C) , I marked it with a red circle on the image below

Operator's manual , only thing I could found (direct download) : www.gbeshop.com/infobase/downloads/michale_product/kt7032.doc

OK, it is a dual Op-Amp ... it may have failed, but most likely it isn't the initial cause of the failure.
Hopefully you have another multimeter and you can quickly check the voltage on pin 8 of the chip

I have another multimeter that works , but I don't have a battery for it :p , I'll buy one and test the chip .
Any other options ?

get that other multimeter working and start with measuring the asked for voltage, we can go from there
it's going to be extremely difficult to impossible unless you can get hold of a circuit schematic

and please photo BOTH sides of the board ... closer up ... 2 pix per side
and MUCH BETTER lighting :)
avoid dark areas and bright spots as you had in your previous post. DONT use a flash, natural lighting but not direct sunlight

I bought a battery and I tested the chip , it measures 7.30-7.50 V DC
