esp32 Data lost from computer to micro- controller.

Using an ESP32 as a cnc controller. I have random data loss (approx one line every 12,000 lines of Gcode) when sending data to controller from laptop. Tried new shielded USB cables, chokes on both end of cable, different USB ports on laptop. No power lines near 5' data cable. I am wondering if it is the computer or ESP32 board.

Can you upload the code at a slower baud rate? or is this a loss of code whilst running it?
