Fan motor: brushed or brushless

14929933165251296210843.jpg Hey everyone. I wanted to use a router speed control to slow this fan motor down, but it doesn't look like I was expecting it to. Those don't look like my drill motors brushes, and it looks more like my bigger induction motors than I thought it would. But if so where's the capacitor? Thanks for your help.

Fan motors usually have the cap mounted remote from the motor i. e in the base or/ could be shaded pole motor. Either way it is frequency dependant which cannot be controlled the way you think.

The pole pieces look to be asymetrical to get rotation at start.

Yes, I think perhaps the shaded pole shorting rings might be located on the inner face of the extended section of the poles.
