Anybody have a URL to download the FCC Rules by complete chapters?
You used to be able to do this through links at the FCC, but now all
you get are search windows where you can download text or PDF's by
individual rule only. I really want the whole chapter. Actually,
several. And I don't want to spend the time to piece PDF's together
to make the actual "book".

- Just asking, before I plop down dollars to purchase from the GPO.
It's a shame you have to "buy" the laws in this country. Used to be
you could just buy the politician.. :)

I need 2, 15, 22 and 24 (Oct '07) if someone has and can email. (Oct
08 if it's avail?) Thanks. -mpm

I did have CFR47 Part 15 somewhere. Not sure if it's all of it.

Now if you got a proper news account I could post it in
alt.binaries.schematics.electronic !

OK, maybe this afternoon I'll bite the bullet and install a proper
newsgroup reader.
It's long overdue.

I need full chapters 2, 15, 22 and 24.
Ideally, the Oct 2008 version, but I don't know if that's been
published yet.(?)
I just hate to give the government (more of) my money.
I don't know why they went through all the trouble to bust up the
URL's rule by rule.
Anytime you're working with this stuff, you need the whole chapter -
at a minimum.
You also need all the Federal Register stuff, but thankfully, I have
that from other sources.

I would write the FCC and suggest they go back to the old way, but I
see they don't even keep their own rules and instead rely on outside
sources to publish them to the web. Notably, the GPO, but there might
be others, which is why I asked.

Thanks.

My copy of Part 15 was 2007 IIRC.

No problem. You should have your Part 15 by now.

<http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/cfr-table-search.html#page1>

Go down to "Title 47" and tick the editions you want to search,
Then punch the "Continue" button, and then on the next page,
put in "Part 15" (or whatever) in the search terms box, and punch
the go button.

It will return a search list of possible documents you can download.
The sizes are wrong for the pdf version, but not too much bigger.

Wow, part 15 is up to 108 pages now. But, at least today, it's the
2007 version.

Thanks Mike, but unless I'm missing something, you have to download
those pages rule-by-rule. I really want the Rule parts all in one
document. Otherwise, I have to past several hundred PDF pages
together by hand.

Thanks Mark!!
That did the trick.

I had to do this same thing a few years back and could not remember
how to do it.
I guess the trick is you have to ignore most of the results hits and
look for the one that seems to be the entire chapter. Very helpful to
know the text title of the particular chapter, of course...

I used that link to go to part 15. Then modified the URL, in turn to cfr 22
and 24 and got them ok.

Of what is there no such thing?

Well, on the page I cited, there's no 15.2, 15.22, or 15.24, but I now
see that there are no even-numbered chapters at all.

Were you talking about 2, 22, & 24 as in "title 2" etc, a la title 15?

Thanks,
Rich

Really ? I have 159 pages for CFR47 Part15. That's 2007 too. 20 Oct by the looks of
it.

What file format? This is from the .pdf.

The stuff from the URL I gave is the direct page copies of the offical
published versions. Which suffers from quite a delay. I don't expect
the October 2008 version to show up there for a couple of months.

There are a couple of versions. Digging around, there's also the eCFR
version, which is a rough draft.

Normally I live in Linux land.
pdftk.exe *.pdf cat output combined.pdf

Of course if the file name wild carding does not put the
pdfs in the correct order you just name them individually on
the command line.

On windows wildcards are the responsability of the program (not the
command-line) and getting a predictable response (especially in a busy
directory) isn't common. best to name them, use a GUI, or script them
somwhow.

Bye.

Oops. Sorry. My shorthand gets me in trouble occasionally.
47CFR2
47CFR15
47CFR22
47CFR24 (Entire chapters for all of the above.)

But I got them downloaded OK thanks to Mark's input.
I had done in that way years back, but had forgotten how.
It was looking like they busted up the parts into indivdual rule
paragraphs, which would have been a headache to reassemble into the
original, complete document.
