hey just need to know if in a circuit that contains both an inductor and a capacitor if the ripple decreases or increaases in comparison with a circuit with a single inductor or capacitor

It depends on how they're connected.

How are they connected?

Does the change involve adding an inductor to an existing circuit, or substituting an existing C with a new C and an L?

It depends on whether it's homework or not.

Mostly it depends on whether after wasting time in a duplicate thread, we want to waste more time. Don't post multiple threads.

Yeah ma bad bout that.
The circuit initialy used a capacitor and then an inductor was introduced afterwards

Let me describe it a little better.
Initially it is a single capacitor, then an inductor was introduced connected directly in series with the load. Afterwards another capacitor was introduced after the inductor connected directly to the load. There was no replacement of any components only addition

Consider the short term and long term response of each element to both a change in voltage or current (as appropriate)

Consider them in isolation first.

How much ripple was there in the circuit with the single inductor or capacitor?
