Hi Everybody,

I wanted to replace a damaged audio jack from a Sony Xplode Car Stereo, and I thought I could switch it with the audio jack from an old Radio Shack kit but the kit jack has 5 pins and this one I'm trying to replace has three.

I've tried searching for "3-pin audio jack" and similar search terms and I'm not finding a part that looks like the part I took out of the Sony (photos attached). What terms do I need to use to find a jack like this?

Welcome to EP,
Search for “pcb mount 3.5mm audio socket”. Then look at the IMAGES.
You’ll see lots.

Edit: The footprint and or pin layout may be different but a little tinkering can solve that.
