Finding a piece like this?

Hello,

I am looking for a screen very very similar to this one, I like the look of it and the size. The parallel lcds and segmented displays on most websites are very small or just look awful (the text in them) They are typically very boxy. I need something wide, like shown.

Note: I am not looking for the housing, just the screen that doesn't look terrible and that you can't see the other segments when they are not on.

Do you guys have any ideas?

Many people make a four digit LCD display. It is a little less common to find a transmissive one so you can use a amber backlight.

And be aware, you will need a display driver IC or microcontroller with built in LCD display driver to run these things. They bring out each segment, and you need an alternating voltage to drive each one. Not nearly as easy to use as LED displays. If power is not a problem, you are probably better off looking for an LED display.

Or, if you are going to use this in a microcontroller or microprocessor based device, use a full color graphics display and have all the flexibility you want.
