Gudday all,

I am a new ( well sort of ) electronics enthusiast and I would like to start
getting into the design and building of my own circuits. I would like to
fisrt construct them on my computer and test them there as well.

Is there any software, specifically freeware, out there wich can run under
Windows 2000?

Thanks to everybody who choses to reply.

Hi TDW,
if you are looking at circuit design and simulation then I would recommend
the student or freeware edition of Pspice. You can download the demo or
student version from
http://www.cadencepcb.com/products/downloads/PSpicestudent/default.asp OR
www.orcadpcb.com

it has node limitiations but useful nonetheless.

It also has pcb design built in however I'd recommend the protel freeware
for that. Their autotrax product is still available for download. from
http://www.protel.com/resources/downloads/index.html

Everyone will recommend their favourite tools no doubt.

If there is a freeware product which has easy schematic capture which can be
used for both simulation and pcb layout that would be the one to go for.

Cheers
