Just got this lot in and dont need it

2 Fluke 9100As, 2 external keyboards, one external monitor, looks to be 12
or 13 inch and is branded Fluke

Lot was purchased as is, working, from a vendor who also has a lot of
scopes, etc and the defective scopes were listed as such - nevertheless,
sold absolutely as is.

Ships in 3 boxes at 31# per, UPS ground. No charge for packing and
handling, I never really unpacked the boxes. Overseas shipping available
but its going to be expensive - I use Global Priority only, don't trust air
or surface parcel post

$750 plus freight? Trade for a bare 9100FT working, plus some bucks? SPAM...

Are you asking if \$750 is a reasonable price? Why not just eBay it
like all the other stuff you sell?

Well Pete, one man's spam is anothers "Holy cow, I have been looking for
this for a year and here it is, no eBay bs, etc"

This post is relevant to every group on which it was posted; the equipment
is used in both pinball and arcade game PCB repair, and the connection to
electronics, repair, and manufacturing is obvious. SPAM is irrelevant
material posted to a group, or repeat posts of the same item in a short
period of time, etc. Learn the difference before you criticize.

As for posting the items instead of eBaying them, I wanted to give RGVAC and
RGP first crack at the equipment; I already know what they are worth, since
I have offers to part them out that add up to about what I am asking. Also,
I have a customer looking for an FT, and on eBay there is no way to take

I am not really sure why I even bothered to answer your post, and am even
more cloudy on why I am being so civil to one who obviously lacks enough of
a life to keep him from becoming a Net Nazi.

So my friend, have a great Christmas and a happy New Year, and try to
resolve to find a hobby other than following up on my posts - though I do
find it flattering that I have a fan or 2 out there that likes to keep track
of my selling practices.

That is YOUR definition of spam. The sci.elsectronics.xxx newsgroups
specifically forbid advertising. That is why the marketplace group was
created.

Here is the message announcing the creation of the
sci.elsectronics.xxx newsgroups which show that you are wrong:

Deny it all you want, but it is just more of your spam.

From your research I quote the following:

A forum for discussion of electronics where there is no such
thing as a stupid question. Beginners questions. Discussion of
electronics education.

So this post of yours that I am reading meets that definition HOW?? I
didn't see anything in there about limitations on free speech, spending time
correcting other's posts, etc

Quoting further:
sci.electronics.design Electronic circuit design.

"Discussions relevant to the design of electronics circuits."

I believe the 9100 is useful in design and prototype work

I could go on, but absent specific wording regarding penalties and
enforcement, these things that you quoted are mere guidelines. I can only
judge from the orders I get (and yes, I do often ask where people saw my
posts) that not all of the users of your group(s) agree with you.

As to the endless argument of marketplace vs discussion, on the arcade games
groups, where I do the bulk of my Usenet business, they long ago outgrew the
anal splitting of hairs about the relevance of posts; RGVAM still exists,
but is pale in comparison to the discussion group, and consists mainly of
cross posts.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, as a matter of fact, conflicting
opinions may actually both be right when viewed in certain lights. The key
to me is that there has to be more to life than getting wound up over a post
that one feels is misdirected. Absent libel or slander, there is no way
that my posts hurt you. Don't want to read them? Block my posts, its as
simple as that. If you don't know how (which I cant imagine, considering
your understanding of the nuances of newsgroup censorship) I will be glad to
direct you to informational sources if you want to tell me what browser you
use.

Meanwhile, every time you or one of your fanatic buddies replies to my
posts, it makes them longer, last longer, and look even more impressive
since they get replies. Thank you

Well, in the case of s.e.d, it's clearly SPAM because it's being
offered for sale and ads aren't generally welcome here, as you've
been told before, on numerous occasions. It might be a little
different if you at least participated in some technical discusions
here, but the only time you show up is when you're schlepping
something for sale.

No matter how loudly (and often) you protest, in groups where

Also, look at the number of newsgroups you've crossposted to and it
becomes obvious that you're SPAMming.

Art, hand this one over to MARK.. He'll take it from here

John I thought Mark from Markline gave you enough crap last time you posted
to make you leery of RGVAC again - guess not
Merry Christmas anyway
And yes, before you go off on another pedantic rant, I realize that because
I cross posted to groups including RGVAC your reply on one of the
electronics groups found its way over here

What is this about? I dont think that anything I said meant to demean you
personally, other than not having much of a life and too much time on your
hands - and since you are a vet and served our country, thank you,

Mike that wasn't directed at you - I agree, I doubt that you have the
intellectual flexibility to understand the thought processes of
non-anal-retentive people who can grasp the idea that one man's spam is
another man's lunch.

The specific wording regarding penalties and enforcement are spelled
with Road Runner, and a sufficient number of complaints to
[email protected] re your SPAMming practices could easily get you TOS'ed.

As far as the sci.electronics.* groups go, I think you'd be hard
pressed to find _anyone_ on these groups who would say that your
shenanigans here _aren't_ SPAMming.

On the arcade games groups there is substantial commercial activity
and a continuing need for the devices you sell, and consequently

Yes, of course. In order for you to do what you do and justify it
you must put the onus on the other person and try to make it seem
like it's their fault that they don't want your SPAM in the group.

Absent libel or slander, there is no way that my posts hurt you.

That's not true. They diminish my enjoyment of not having to
contend with SPAM on what is supposed to be a commercial-free
newsgroup.

Not really.

Properly written, replies to your posts will show why you're wrong
in doing what you do against the wishes of those who have legitimate
complaints, which will show you up for what you really are.

Once again, you drone on about things you know nothing about, Art.
SPAM is emergency rations, not lunch. The soliders in WWII ate plenty of
it, and survived, but I'm sure they would have rather been safe and warm
at home with their families instead of eating cold meat out of a tin
can.

Then explain all the dirty politicians, inept lawyers and crooked
judges. I'd say he has done a piss poor job of it, over all.
