I need some help building a full wave bridge rectifier. I need to install a resistor(s) (apparently) to get potential difference, but I don't treacly understand why. Anyway, without explaining the physics, please could anyone tell me what resister value in Ohms and what wattage value would I need if I installed a resister in position R0, before the LED's (all of which are 1.8w and approx 160mA), or should I install a resister at positions R1 R2 and R3.
Ideally, I just want one, but can you advise on the specs please and how to calculate if the LED ratings change?
Please look at attached diagram

Hi Steve

Thanks for your reply. They are in a cooker hood and the 1st bulb (currently all G4 halogens) rectifies the rest. I cannot get inside the hood, only the lamp holder. I bough DC LEDs, not realising it was an AC supply. Any advice appreciated.

Regards

Ian
