Generic PROM chip replacements for Napco

PROM chips for use with older Napco controls have become difficult
enough to acquire through the local alarm suppliers that I wish to
order some quantities of standard replacements through one of my
electronic parts vendors. For my purposes, I only need to stock two
chip types. One would be for MA-800 panels, and the other would be a
replacement for the 493BNK that was handy for several later Napco
panels. I have a set of reference PROMs with the page one info for
the MA-900s and such.

I recently searched the alt.security.alarms archives and found this
had been discussed before and I came across some mention of chip types
(such as 82S131 and 74S571). I didn't see a posting that seemed quite
as authoritative as I was looking for. What I was hoping is that one
of more of you out there have taken this step now and can confirm
absolutely which chip numbers you are buying and can of course confirm
that they work correctly in your programmer and in the panels.

I have a local chip supplier, and I've also used Jameco and Mouser in
the past, but it would be great to hear from anybody who has a chip
vendor recommendation as well.

Thanks all.
