Hello, I have taken apart an old television and have found this 4 pin, integrated circuit on it, and no matter what kind of search on the internet I do, I just cannot find what it is.

so im going to try to show you what it looks like so maybe you can help.

PIN PF5001 PIN
0001
PIN K C . PIN

Flip the chip over and there is a stamped K

the K on the front of the chip is pretty fancy, eveything else is typed very clearly. and the " . " on the front is a white dot.

I think i attached a pic of it.. dunno how that will work out

I'd say it's either a bridge rectifier or an optocoupler.

If you use a multimeter on a diode test range, you will find diodes across each of the 4 pins if it's a bridge rectifier, and across only 1 if its an optocoupler.

Only across the side with the dot on it, red terminal on dot, black on the one just above it.

So, optocoupler it is. So theres a little led inside. How interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opto-isolator is where i read up on it. Seems useful.

Wish i had a datasheet still, so i dont overload the poor thing. lol.

Edit:
Now that i know what it is, i found out exactly what it is...
