hi, many moons ago i owned a tv repair business. i built a heathkit crt checker. worked great. i modified it by adding a on/off switch, that when activated put the entire 16vac to the htr of the crt i was testing. problem is, i don't have a clue as to why i did this? its driving me nuts. any ideas?

CRT 'rejuvenation' - in conjunction with a high potential on another CRT electrode (I forget which) it caused the heater to be 'stripped' of a coating that used to build up and reduce electron emissions making 'dull' colours.
