I have very little to speak of inbthe way of the fundamental understandings of Electrical Theory, and am now investing in Source Material by which to learn things I wish I would have found opportunity to learn 30 years ago
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity
-Albert Einstein

Your business partner, your friend, the technologist.
I bet he had a fundamental understanding of electrical theory.
But at the time you were probably in the middle of something difficult.
You will fit in nicely...
Welcome to misfit Island.

Hello Deltaprime.
Thanks for the reply.
Well you're inference was not far off. You're definitely correct to say that the 'friend' had the fundamental understanding. Unfortunately and unbeknownst to me, he had been wrapped up in something more difficult than I could have imagined.

Long story short, he had a secret drug addiction, and before that was I was desperately pouring money into a sunk ship. After I cut off pouring money into our venture the excuses begun and the game was clear.
A year latter he's homeless I'm out of out tens of thousands.
Since then I met with a terrible accident, and am recovering from many broken bones and a complicated brain injury.

Thank you for the sentiment:
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity
-Albert Einstein
Indeed life is a strange adventure.

Greetings, Steve, and fellow electron ranchers, herders, hoarders.
My name is Jason, I'm somewhere closer to 50 yes Old, and my passion for electronics ebbs closer to being an obsession, and it's a thrilling adventure, that I'm looking forward to spending much more time with.
I was a passive business partner with a friend, together we had a small electronics repair business, while my friend was the technologist, he was not the business guy, and things met with a rather bitter end. Money lost and separate ways.

I have very little to speak of inbthe way of the fundamental understandings of Electrical Theory, and am now investing in Source Material by which to learn things I wish I would have found opportunity to learn 30 years ago, so over the next short while, I forsee Books coming my way.
My passion came about after I got board with building custom Comouters, and doing rudimentary circuit repair, simply grunt soldering, which I was okay with. I desired to build my own innovations and discovered a world that has a depth that seems to be endless.
I'm thankful to have a place dedicated to the craft.
At the moment, and forbthe past 2 years, I have been healing from a complicated accident, which broke my body and left me with some brain damage. So reading and collecting gear is where I am at, however I have been able to increase my cognitive expenditure and am now looking to begin more bread boarding.
I have a number of projects that I've been wrestling with and am at the point where it's time to begin putting thing into circuits.

With not having a vast understanding, on top of being new to the community, I will have lurk around to seek and discover topics that are my pace. At this point I have far more questions than answers. At some point, when I discover the appropriate place and time to do so, I will share the aspects of the project I'm working up to proceeding with. As I'm at a cross roads with how to accomplish a few aspects.
I'm playing bread boards, Arduinos, and truck loads of gear that I can salvage to a large extent, and have a rather unhealthy hoard of components from the "parting of ways".
Anyways to spare any further blah-blah, blah-blah.
Thank you!!
I wish you well and hope for a good recovery.
I myself have had serious health issues, heart attack and the two years later bowel cancer which I was extremely lucky to survive. You wouldn't believe but they sewed me back up with 4 inches of dead bowel inside me and so my road to recovery was extremely long and arduous.
There are some good guys on here who will help you out.
I'm still a novice though.

Thanks Bertus,
While I have a full library of electronics books, I'm currently more than 1000 Km's from home.
But last year I purchase these three books.
I have not been able to return to my home, for over two years, since an accident. At this point I'm only able to read for a short amount of time before my brain does weird and painful stuff.
I've been slowly establishing a work bench, and as I gain more ground to expend myself, I will have my Bench Power Supply and a crate of goodies shipped to me.

Welcome bidrohini. There are some god guys on here but not me. I am still a novice.
I respect your humility, I cannot consider myself, past having more interest and passion than I know how to effectively proceed.
It was clear to me four years ago, that it would be best to put all my desire on hold, and start right fromnthe beginning.
I think this decision added 20 years to my life expectancy!!

Thank you KingWhiskers,
I appreciate you sharing...
I'm happy to hear that you have survived these ordeals, and I wish you longevity with good health.
I'm dedicated to my recovery, yes it's difficult, and I'm hopeful, but realistic, while I can write and type, it's altogether a struggle to speak, and be active physically, walking two to three times a day for 20 minutes. Reading for short intervals...
It has all given me a far deeper perspective regarding taking things for granted.
I'm looking forward with intentional ambition, and embracing it all.
