Help! Can't find cross reference for a discontinued motorola diode in a 48v motor controller

My controller blew a bunch of diodes and I'd very much like to replace them but I've found nothing but dead-ends when trying to find a datasheet or any cross reference info for a replacement.
The diode in question seems bolts onto a heat sink on one side. CR4180RB made by Motorola in Mexico. Any leads to source a compatible replacement would be appreciated.

There are likely to be multiple suitable candidates but we can probably only determine that from either a schematic or (possibly) a pic of the actual device - and its placement.

Someone with better Google-fu than me might also find the genuine datasheet.

Google throws up an image of that diode sitting next to a 100V 40A (32A with a case temperature of 75C) MOSFET (RFG40N10) whose datasheet says a typical use is in switch-mode regulators/converters. That suggests to me that the diode is likely a Schottky one with a similar voltage/current rating. Here's a link to the image (on a Russian site!).
