Help! DC Automatic Voltage Regulation

How can one regulates DC voltage automatically to the voltage required by an appliance using micro-controller?

By using a micro-controller designed to regulate voltage and supplying the supporting components needed to do that?

It might be easier if you just started out by telling us exactly what you're trying to do. What appliance, what input voltage, what output voltage (and current), and why you might need something more elaborate or smarter than a typical power supply IC that is purpose built for the task.

If "appliance" means a standard consumer appliance, it seems like a power supply repair usually isn't hard to do, or instead of building a power supply from scratch, there are ready made PSU modules that usually cost a lot less than building from scratch.
