HI: I have a brushless generator 8kw with two pole "coil" rotor. Each coil end is connected in parallel to a varistor no# FNR-10K621 green color the other is a diode part number rubbed off only thing i can make of it 10F???? black, isolated, base pin cut off. It ohms out like a diode. How can i find part number? Is there a test that can be done to determine voltage amp rating . Thank you .

Can you get a data sheet on the FNR-10K621?
Maybe you can get recommended diode information from the specs on the varistor.

I don't see the specs, so you're seeing something that didn't show up here.
What is exactly the problem, do you think the varistor or diode failed?
I don't know where you're at, so I don't know your input voltage to even take a guess at this.
Can you get any information from the manufacturer of your generator?
Do you have any kind of electronic schematic on your generator?
Anything in the owner's manual?
Is this something you got off ebay, that might have a different operating voltage or
hertz rating than where you're at (from a different country)?
I'm assuming your generator doesn't work, but are you pretty sure this is your problem?
What are the symptoms of the failure?
Do you see any obvious circuitry damage?
Usually varistors fail with damage and I don't see any here. If you're pretty sure the
diode failed, the '10F' prefix may help you get into the close neighborhood of the rating
of the diode, but I think we could use a little more information about the basic problem.

HI: First off i am in Texas, i bought this generator model:005708-0 XP8000E used not functional. I am an amateur who likes to tinker with stuff. After dissassembly found one set varistor / diode missing, chopped off one pole. Took other end apart to get part number but it was rubbed off. Dealer offers only new rotor, no specs. available. For me it is too much money to spend on a new rotor" 0G5211C" with shipping cost, considering cost of diode and MOV.

All's I'm getting searching for information on your issue, is hits on your posts on a lot
of other electronic and Generac websites you've been hitting.
If the guys who have your generator can't help you, the builders must want this
information to be proprietary.
My advice, would be to keep trying the people you've been trying, to see if someone
else who have your model, can give you the information you need.
