Originally, the picture was way out of convergence and bowed at the
top and bottom of the screen. I ran Chipper Check and discovered that
the "Convergence Module did NOT respond on the Run Bus." So, I
checked the Digital Convergence power supply (static checked the
diodes and caps, etc.) and did not discover anything wrong with it. I
felt the heat sinks on the power supply and the digital convergence
module and they were all cold. I checked voltages from the power
supply during power up and everything came up properly, but shut down
after about 2 seconds. I unplugged the CRT's from the Digital
Convergence module and the power supply powered up properly and stayed
up. The heat sink became warm, and the output voltages were right on.
I plugged the CRT's back in one at a time, and aligned them using the
Customer service menu (which by the way had returned), and discovered
that the blue CRT will not converge. Soon after, the power supply
shut down again. With the Blue CRT left unplugged, and the Red and
Green CRT's still plugged in, Chipper Check said that the Digital
Convergence Module DID respond on the Run Bus.

Question: How do I determine if the problem lies in the Blue CRT or
it's respective circuitry in the Digital Convergence Module? Also,
once I determine where the problem is, how do I correct it?

Can I try plugging the Red or Green CRT's into the Blue plug on the
Digital Convergence module? That would tell me if the module itself
is ok, and the problem lies in the Blue CRT. I don't want to do it
unless I know that it shouldn't cause a problem.

I hope I explained this clearly. If anyone has questions, please
ask...

Thanks,

Andy
