If making a board, you will need to specify the power sources with a power-flag.

Having trouble making time for this H-bridge part of my project. I just want to know one thing, I was going to put a 20ohm power resistor (500w) in line with the positive from the rectifier to the 55vdc then in to the the input of the inverter, to avoid shorting, is this necessary also if i do put the 20ohm resistor in then I want voltage after the resistor to be 55, so my question is do I need to have a higher starting voltage? if that makes sence because of voltage drop, and one more thing how much resistance will the inverter have? thanks

You have come a long way in your project, you should be proud also there's no shame in reviewing. Perfect example is me typing this in bold font I can't get it to stop now... I got to figure out why? darn it. A review is necessary.

I like the colour wheel with the relationships between power resistance voltage and current! it's nice.

So can you answer the original question? much appreciated.
The ‘inline’ series resistor will have a voltage drop. It WILL lower the voltage depending on resistance. The ‘pretty colour wheel’ is your friend. The series resistor will then supply a constant current (providing supply voltage stays the same).
So to calculate your resistor, you need to know what current is required and then divide it by voltage.
ie Resistance = Voltage divided by Current.
