Satire, perhaps, but "funny money" is nothing to jest about. My Government's printing of an excessive amount of fiat paper dollars has caused an inflationary spiral that has already cost me almost one hundred dollars every month because it decreases the yield on my TIAA-CREF retirement annuity, and hence the amount that annuity pays to me and my wife each month.
Inflation has also reduced my family's ability to purchase quality food and clothing... well, that, plus the almost impossible means to purchase just about anything produced locally, or even anything manufactured in the U.S.A. Were it not for inflation and the ridiculous price of ownership, my wife would have a Tesla electric vehicle parked in our garage, charging from our solar panels, right now. Meanwhile, her 2018 Kia Soul Turbo gets us where we need to go around town. She has even driven it back to Dayton, Ohio, on a few occasions.
I doubt we would try that in a Tesla driving up I-75 through Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky to Ohio.
