Hello,

Dam my amateur hobbyist skills... can anyone help me wire this up?

http://s7.postimg.org/t495jk7ij/encoder.jpg

As you can see I powered the unit up and it works! yay for second hand stuff haha
I also found an old wiring diagram and the manual.

My question is what do I put where next... The brown, black, white look straight forward but the blue? What the hecks going on lol

Is anyone good with paint and can draw what I need to attach where.

My venture into diy electronics isn't going so well, its fun but I wish I did it in highschool instead of getting interested when I'm already starting to forget things. My skill level is the lowest level. I can solder, tell positive from negative and hook up power to things. Thats about all. I don't know how to read diagrams but I'm working on it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi raesunrise95,
Your picture isn't very clear. But the wiring colour code you supplied clearly shows the BLUE is ground.
ie- negative or ground.
This would be to a battery negative or to a chassis ground.

I can't see it working from your picture. But the blue is ground..

Appears to be Z pulse is usually one pulse/rev output (marker pulse).
A & B are self explanatory, i.e. the two quadrature pulses, GND, and I assume Ub is power?
Outputs are open collector so you need a pull up resistor on each, if none fitted.
BK = Z
Bn = Ub power
Blue = GND
GY A & B
WH quad out
For a simple direction counter you do not need Z.
