This is a 2-wire fan motor from a LG fridge. When I connect it to 12VDC it is held in position and doesn't rotate. Can anyone tell me what input this wants to rotate or is it broken? Does it need a PWM signal? I've looked all over to try to find a datasheet on it. It's a very common little fan motor. Thanks for any help.

I suspect the motor should work on 12VDC, as you tried, but its internal commutation circuitry is faulty.

When I connect it to 12VDC
Although it should work on 12V dc, it does say 13VDC @ 120mA.
Does your 12V supply at least 120mA?.
Also try the polarity as it also states CCW (counter clockwise).
I can’t imagine it making any difference though.

Thank you fellas. I tried reversing the polarity but no help. It isn't dead by any means, if I tap the contacts it will spin, but with constant current from a car battery it moves slightly and stays locked in position. Most likely the internal circuitry is not doing its BLDC magic. Thank you for your input.
