Hi there I ant to buy a soldering gun but I don't know what kind. I got one
at Canadian Tire but it was crap. It was a 240 watt gun but it didn't work
properly and it was poorly manufactured. I saw one somewhere else but it is
only approximately 180 watts. Is this enough? I want to solder electronics
but also household electricity too. I.E. Speaker wires and such.

Thanks for your help

A 40 watt regulated iron (that turns off when it gets hot enough) is
plenty for electronic work, but is too hot if it is not regulated. A
25 watt iron is about right is not regulated, though it takes a while
to heat up.
I just bought a Haako iron for my son, and it is very nice.

if you want to solder electronics you would be off with a miniature iron
