How much voltage is needed to power this fan?

Hi,
I don't really know anything about electronics, but I have a simple question:
Will I be able to power this fan with one or two AAA batteries? I know it is rated at 5v, but I was just curious to see if I could power it with less voltage.

Thanks,

Hadley

I would expect it to work, but don't expect to get anything close to the stated CFM. In other words, it will turn but it probably won't do a good job at cooling things. Looks pretty low power to begin with.

It may turn slightly but don't count on it cooling anything at lower than its rated voltage.

And don't count on the AAA batteries having much life.

no you cannot use lower voltage than that as you will overheat the coils..........the inertia will stop it turning at the lower voltage....then there will be no back emf to limit the current,,,,and the current will be too high, ..also , you will not have the cooling effect of the fan turning.
