How should I wire this, etc?

125v source.
Probably 96 purple LEDs.

20ma - 3.0-3.2v each.

How would you do it, while keeping the cost down? i.e.

Should I wire them in series?

Should I use an adapter to bring the 125v down to 3v? (and if so, where can I get one at a reasonable price?)

I think I have a 24v adapter. Should I use that, and wire 8 LEDs in series at a time?

I think your need a unit over 2 amps a fair bit over to be safe, 2.5 - 3 amps..
