Hello,

Please excuse my ignorance of electronics. I disassembled an HP m2727nf laserjet printer with a bad fusion unit (bad roller) and suspect the part shown in the attachment is also bad. How do you check if the part works or not with a multimeter. Thank you for any help.IMG_0762.JPG

Looks like some sort of sensor. Possibly a thermistor?.
You can check it by heating it and see if the resistance decreases (or increases).
If this is internal to the fuser, I doubt HP sell it separately.

I pulled apart the unit and the following is printed on one part: "H3A 191D1 r" and also "36U?-230AI". The "?" stands for a character I cannot read due to a scratch mark. I checked for resistance with a multimeter but the multimeter simply shows "0.L".

If your DMM is showing OL then the part is resistively open circuit.
