How to make a simple remote control switch

HI,
I would like to make a simple remote control on / off switch for Bulb which is currently running on the 9Volt battery.I dont know where to start .I have searched through the internet the answer am getting is use RELAY.I am not that familiar with electronics.So could anyone help me to get into the right direction to make a Remote switch?

do you want remote control or radio control?

remote switch is easy, just run a long wire to a switch, make sure that you have the power to make up for the distance and youre done

radio control will get a bit difficult, not terribly hard, but difficult

Dead simple if you just purchase it, you would almost certainly spend more building it then you will having this dropped off at your front door...

BTW, I have run these at 9V, but something to consider it will put a constant drain on the battery, so remember when it's off it's not really off and the battery won't last for extended periods of time...
