Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the steps described in "How to Replace the Rock Creek Chip" (version 1.1).

The first step advises to "Power off everything". What I understand from this is that I should turn off both switches of the unit (both at the front and at the back).

Is that all there is to it, or should I switch off anything else before proceeding?

Thanks for your time,

as the document says power off EVERYTHING :)
pull the power plug from the computer You must do that cuz even if you switch off from the front, depending on the switching system used, there could still be a standby voltage going to the motherboard

PS. always make sure you start your own threads, rather than posting on the end of some one elses topic. as you notice I have moved your post :)

Yeah, but you can leave your fridge running... :D

Turn of "everything" applies to the equipment you're working on (and means unplug from the mains, remove batteries, etc.). If it's connected to anything else, that should be switched off (and unplugged, etc.) or it should be disconnected.
