I have a number of HP part number 1820-2378 ICs. they are 40 pin DIP
packages. Can anyone (maybe even an HP employee) find out what this
part is and any other data? If I cant get some kind of data, I suppose
they are worthless and I need to trash them.

They appear to be a house-branded AMD AM2910DC. "The Am2910 is a
microprogram address sequencer intended for use in high-speed
microprocessor applications."

Probably quite interesting if you intend to build your own
microprocessor or microcontroller.

Contact Walter at http://www.sphere.bc.ca/test/. His web site lists HP
cross refs and he might even be interested in buying yours.

I show them as crossing to an AM2910DC. The manufacturer's code is
03794.
