Can anyone identify this 8 pin round plug?

Most importantly, where I can buy it in the UK?

Thanks

Looks like a DIN connector.
You should find it at your preferred electronics parts dealer..
Notce that there is a mini DIN variant, too. Watch out for the correct diameter.

These are common for microphones on radio transceivers as a 4, 6 or as in your one 8pin

I don't think it's a DIN connector, but I don't know the name of it. The male connector is recessed, unlike DIN connectors. As Dave says, they used to be used for some microphones.

Look on a big component retailer like Digikey or Mouser (U.S.) or Element 14 (U.K.) and try to find a match visually.

Kris, you may be right
Another possibility is an 8 pin XLR connector.

Thats correct Kris
they are not DIN connectors

They are known as Microphone connectors
As I said earlier, you will find them on transceiver gear ----all amateur radio, CB and a lot of commercial

Altronics in Australia stock them AU$2.45
