Hello everyone, I have here a partially disassembled amazon echo. I am attempting to hardwire a switch to the microphone as I like the benefit of playing music on it. But I can not bring myself to trust the built on mute button. I would rather have something I know is secure installed onto it. As I said all I am attempting to do is locate the microphone. Which I have been unable to do, simply asking for another pair or few pairs of eyes on it for opinions. Thanks in advance!

Look at the board with the white ring around the perimeter where the LEDs (DS1, DS2, DS3, etc) are. In between them are several (6) golden colored rectangular metal mics labeled as MK1 through MK6 around that white silkscreen area and then the 7th mic, MK7 being in the center of the board.

So, seven (SMD?) mics, it is not so simple to use a single switch to deactivate them. Maybe they did this on purpose. ;)
