Dear all,

I have project to build a circuit that is able to turn on an internal combustion engine. The aplication is in agriculture, for turning on a water pump used to drain water out of a field. The circuit should,

- Take as imput the output of a "water switch", which is a switch that closes/ON (opens/OFF) when the water level is above (below) a certain threshold/level.

- Turn on the engine with the water switch is ON. The circuit should use a signal from the engine to "know" that it is already running (the oil pressure maybe???).

- Turn off the engine when the water switch is OFF.

Any information you could provide will be very useful.

Many thanks,

Alejandro Pérez

I presume that you have a battery, starter solenoid and motor and alternator to recharge the battery.

The solenoid could be actuated from your switch if the battery voltage is 12V or under.
When the engine starts, the battery voltage will rise to about 14V and this could inhibit the start.
